Morning light pours through the tall, arched windows of Natasha Zoë Rohan's home in Los Angeles, catching on a vintage kilim by the front door and pottery lined up on open shelving in the dining room. A model and fashion creative with nearly twenty years in the industry, Natasha shares the home with her young daughter and their dog.
Those two decades, including years spent collecting and reselling vintage clothing, gave her an eye for pieces with staying power.
It shows throughout her home, where vintage textiles and worn wood come together, shaped by routine, curiosity, and a good sense for what's worth keeping.
Tell us about your work in fashion.
I've worked in the fashion industry in various ways for nearly twenty years. I started my journey as a model, then moved into wardrobe styling in New York, before moving back to California. In 2018, I started collecting and selling vintage clothing, which then transformed into my own line of clothing inspired by the vintage I'd collected. After having my daughter last summer, I decided to shift my focus to working with other brands as a content creator and a model.
Where do you find creative inspiration?
I'm most inspired by my travels. I take in my surroundings so much more when I'm somewhere new. When I can't go on a trip, I love to visit museums, galleries, and art book stores for inspiration.
What makes you feel relaxed at home?
I love a routine, and I have a few that help me feel relaxed and grounded at home. In the mornings, that looks like brewing a fresh batch of coffee and opening all the curtains to let the sunlight in. In the evenings, that looks like a hot bath after my daughter goes to sleep. I love lighting a bunch of beeswax candles and listening to good music or a podcast.
What's your favourite thing about your home?
I love how tall the ceilings are. It makes the relatively small space look and feel so much larger and more spacious.
What's your favourite time of day in the house?
I love our wind-down routine at the end of the day, before my daughter goes to sleep. We like to keep the lighting soft and the mood calm. We give our daughter a bath, then spend some time playing with her and reading books in her room before she goes to sleep.
